Sailing area Gibraltar

From Gibraltar you can choose two sailing areas. The Atlantic South coast of Spain and Portugal, or the Mediterranean Sea with the coasts of Spain and Africa.

If you choose the Atlantic South coast, you can set course from Gibraltar to for example, Lagos (Portugal), at a distance of approx. 200 Nm. A fantastic trip with nice harbours on your way. On the way back you can visit Vilamoura, the old and beautiful Ayamonte at the Spanish/Portuguese river Rio Guadiana. As well you can visit several marinas in the bay of Cadiz, with for example Puerto de Santa Maria of the marina of Cadíz itself. Even Sevilla you can reach on own keel.

Andalusia at the Mediterranean Sea, with her beautiful old cities like Malaga and Grenada is one of the biggest tourist areas and is know because of her nature, culture and the water sport area with 870 Km of coast line.

The marinas in Andalusia like Puerto Banus, Estapona and Marbella are a favourite combination of the Mediterranean climate and the beautiful landscape. The marinas are spacious and are equipped with all kind of services to make it you as comfortable as possible during your holidays.

If you are visiting a marina, we recommend you to try the local specialities like Piri Piri chicken, crab fish and lobster. The coquilles in Portugal and the tapas in Spain will give you the real holiday feeling.
